An international rights group says Israel has imprisoned at least five Palestinian minors without being charged in recent months for Facebook posts.
According to Defense for Children International Palestine- DCIP, Israeli authorities claim that the social media posts amounted to “incitement to commit violence” against Israelis. This comes amid Israel’s crackdown on Palestinian journalists, media organizations, and ordinary people in the occupied territories for their social media activities. DCIP and other rights groups have slammed the crackdown against the Palestinians as a blatant violation of freedom of speech.
