Today marks the 90th day of Palestinian journalist Mohammed al-Qeeq’s hunger strike. He is held under administrative detention, without charge or trial.
Israel’s Supreme Court ruled earlier this month to temporarily “suspend” al-Qeeq’s detention due to his deteriorating health, but the conditional suspension required that he remains in Israel’s HaEmek hospital in Afula. Mohammed Al-Qeeq has vowed to maintain his strike until transferred a hospital under Palestinian jurisdiction.
